NEW Food @DiningUMD

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a refreshing summer. It is an exciting year for UMD Dining Services with the opening of a new sub shop in the Food Court, new menus in Center Court Restaurant and the Dining Center, Coffee Shop grab and go additions, as well as a complete renovation of the DC to start in Spring 2015!!

Read on for an overview of what is new for the 2014-2015 school year.

Great Lakes Grains Superior Sandwiches

NOW OPEN! This new location will feature fresh baked breads & made to order sandwiches.

***The Dietitian's Pick***

The Light House: Spinach Artichoke Hummus, Cucumbers, Green Pepper, Alfalfa Sprouts, Lettuce, Tomato and Red Onion

Center Court Restaurant

Updated Executive Chef inspired menu. I'm excited about some of the healthy offerings as well as new vegetarian friendly choices.

***The Dietitian's Pick***

NEW Mushroom and Quinoa Veggie Burger: this vegetarian alternative can be substituted for our beef patty in any of the gourmet burgers.

Dining Center

Chicken Tikka entree
We couldn't wait for a renovation to revamp the menu. Features of the new menu include reduced repetition of entrees (more variety!), brand new vegetarian entrees, new grill items including turkey burgers & chicken wild rice brats, additional rotisserie items, and  innovative entrees.

***The Dietitian's Pick***

Chicken Tikka entree stands out due to its international flair and blend of spices.

Northern Shores Coffee Shop

The coffee shop has a few new items and switches for the upcoming year, including more grab and go options for busy students on the run, with a particular focus on healthy-whole foods.

***The Dietitian's Pick***

Snack size trail mix & Nuts for a fuel on the go! These make the perfect snack to get you through the school day.

Stay tuned! Over the next couple weeks I will go into more detail about each location, including the Dietitian's Picks for healthy choices, vegan/vegetarian, gluten friendly and allergen friendly offerings.
